Top Resources For Pakistani Bloggers and Tech Lovers

Pakistani bloggers are truly capable of anything. Despite of the lack of web resources available for Pakistani webmasters, these guys are doing a great job. Today I have gathered some of the top resources and tools for Pakistani bloggers that will help you out in your blogging journey.

Bloggers.pk [The Pakistani Blog Aggregator]

This is a cool site which aggregates blog posts from Pakisani sites. Created by developed by Omer Alvi and myself  Dr. Awab Alvi. It was started a little while ago and is still in the beta phase. Alexa ranking is not very good (around 180,000 at the time I am writing this) but the site has a solid PR3. Readers can like or dislike articles thus increasing or decreasing their rank on the site. On the whole it can become a nice promotional tool for Pakistani bloggers in the future.

Wired Pakistan Forums [Tech Related Forum]

Need technical help? If yes, then this community is perfect for you. You can join the forum for free and get help on almost every tech related issue, from blogging to gaming and computer hardware to Pakistani telecoms industry. The site has a PR3 and a very good Alexa ranking (27,000 approx). I couldn't find any nofollow tags in the source code of it's pages so chances are that it's dofollow. You know what that means! Juicy links!

PakPositive.com [Blog aggregator]

The first ever Pakistani blog aggregator, Pak Positive brings the best Pakistani bloggers together. The site is some what complicated with no clear registration link on the home page. Alexa ranking is bad and is getting worse. I think the problem is with the bloggers themselves. Most don't even know what an aggregator is. This is why these sites are not catching on. Still a nice promotional tool.

SWREG.org [PayPal Alternative]

All of us want to use PayPal in Pakistan and receive payments but the fact that PayPal is not available in Pakistan is too disappointing. Worry no more, here's an alternative. You can receive Paypal and other forms of payments easily with SWREG.org.

That's all for now. Keep coming back for more cool stuff

Now Hiring Chairman for Microsoft Europe

[The geeks would have read this in @internet magazine but if you haven't, you ought to read it out]

Bill Gates of the Microsoft company arranged a large session to hire a new head for Microsoft Europe. 5000 eager candidates gather in a big room. One of them was Bilal - a Pakistani living in USA.

Bill Gates thanked all the candidates for gathering and asked those who do not know JAVA language to leave. 2000 people leave the room. Bilal says to himself, 'I do not know programming but I have nothing to lose if I stay. So why not give it a try'
Bill Gates asked the candidates who never had experience of managing more than 100 people to leave. 2000 people leave the room... Bilal says to himself ' I never managed anybody besides myself but I have nothing to lose if I stay. What can happen to me?' So he stays.

Then Bill Gates asked candidates who do not have management diplomas to leave. 500 people leave the room. Bilal says to himself, 'I left school at 12 but what have I got to lose? ' So he stays in the room.

Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo - Croat to leave. 498 people leave the room. Bilal says to himself, ' I do not speak one word of Serbo - Croat but what do I have to lose?' So he stays and finds himself with one other candidate.

Everyone else has gone.

Bill Gates joined them and said 'Apparently you are the only two candidates who have all the required qualifications and experience I am looking for and speak Serbo - Croat, so I'd now like to hear you have a
conversation together in that language.'
Calmly, Bilal turns to the other candidate and says `Kaisa hay ...Ustaad?'

"Oye........ Tu bhee Pakistani hay??"
